Dr Tochukwu E Anyansi is a medical doctor with specializations in radiology and psychiatry. He trained as a psychiatrist with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) Training scheme in Dublin, and obtained a membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in the United Kingdom in 2014. He worked as a consultant psychiatrist in the Republic of Ireland before moving to Canada in 2017 and has been treating patients with mood disorders, personality disorders, and psychotic illnesses. He pioneered the IV Ketamine treatment program for depression at the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, where he was department head of psychiatry from 2021 to 2023. He is the Medical Director for Tertiary Mental Health, Interior Health Authority, and works as a psychiatrist at Hillside Center and Royal Inland Hospital, Kamloops. He is also currently the principal investigator for a psilocybin study in Kamloops to investigate the efficacy, safety, and durability of psilocybin for treatment-resistant depression. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in Canada and a clinical instructor at the Department of Psychiatry, University of British Columbia.
